1 taken into custody after incident reportedly involving a gun

One is in custody Thursday morning following a domestic disturbance where the suspect allegedly wielded a gun.

According to Austin Police Lt. John Mueller, at a little after 10 a.m. Austin police, along with deputies from the Mower County Sheriff’s Department, responded to a report of a male party with a gun threatening another subject in the backyard of a home in the 500 block of Fifth Avenue Northwest.

Before law enforcement arrived, a report came in that both subjects went back into the house. When law enforcement arrived, a perimeter was established. Three adult males were later taken into custody at gunpoint while a juvenile was escorted from the home by an officer.

Two of the three males taken into custody were released at the scene. The third was arrested and taken to Mower County jail and is awaiting charges.
