Hayfield boys pummel Fillmore Central

The No. 2 seeded Hayfield boys basketball team blasted No. 15 Fillmore Central 89-57 in a Section 1A Tournament opener in Hayfield Thursday.

Ethan Slaathaug had 29 points for the Vikings (22-5 overall).

Hayfield will take on No. 7 Rushford-Peterson in Mayo Civic Center at 6 p.m. on March 4.
